Dentures

If you are missing some or all of your teeth, dentures may provide the perfect solution to restore your smile and enhance the quality of your life. We, at Laguna Oaks Dental, are proud to offer comfortable, natural-looking dentures, custom made for you. You have no reason to miss out on life’s pleasures anymore!

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are oral appliances designed to replace missing teeth. Today’s advanced technology offers dentures that are comfortable, and look incredibly natural. There are two types of removable dentures. Complete dentures restore your teeth if you are missing them all, while partial dentures work when some natural teeth remain. Implant supported dentures, on the other hand, can be complete or partial and are attached to implants surgically implanted into your jawbone.

Removable Complete Dentures: Conventional vs. Immediate

Conventional Dentures: Before fitting you with your conventional dentures, we may need to remove any remaining teeth. Your jawbone will change in shape during healing which typically takes several months. We usually outfit you with temporary dentures and construct your dentures when healing is complete to ensure a perfect fit.

Immediate Dentures: Immediate dentures are prepared in advanced and positioned the same day we extract any remaining teeth. Immediate dentures will likely require relining and more adjustments than conventional ones to ensure you enjoy comfortable, well-fitting restorations.

Why Choose Dentures?
Dentures offer a quick, cost-effective means of replacing missing teeth. When you lose teeth, you may begin to look different due to your facial muscles sagging. Dentures provide support to facial structures, instantly making your features appear fuller and giving you a younger appearance. Your new dentures will enhance your quality of life and your health. You will be able to chew food, speak clearly, and smile with confidence once again!

What Is the Procedure?
We will typically require four to five appointments to fit you with your new dentures. We will begin the procedure with an examination including x-rays of your gums and jaw. We will schedule an appointment to remove any remaining teeth if needed.

If you opt for immediate dentures, we will take impressions of your mouth before extracting any teeth. If, on the other hand, you prefer conventional dentures, we will make these impressions after the healing process is complete.

We will use the impressions we take to design a model of your dentures and will test it for fit before casting your final restoration. After fitting you with your dentures, we will make any adjustments needed to ensure the best fit, comfort, and function.

You will love your new dentures! To ensure they continue to fit and function well, make sure to keep up with your appointments to make any adjustments needed. With care, your dentures can last many years!
